Novella Reflection

It has been a though couple of weeks. I decided to write a novella. Even though it was really hard and I had to work a lot harder than other people, I think deciding to write a novella is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I enjoyed a lot of things about this unit, but what I especially enjoyed is having lessons in the morning, being able to listen to music and just writing whatever came to my mind. At first I was anxious about the topic I’ve chosen since there are people who think having same sex relationships are wrong, but I really enjoyed being able to express my thoughts and feelings freely. If I could change a thing about this unit it would be expending the time we got for editing our stories. As a person who had a lot to edit, it was really hard for me to edit my story in such short time. The most important lesson I’ve learnt from this unit is time management. When we wrote stories for ERB, I wasn’t able to finish my story on time and I was afraid the same thing would happen with this unit. I worked hard and finished my story on time. What I’ve learnt from the stories we’ve read earlier this year is how there are actually way deeper meanings to a story and to be able to get to that meaning, we have to read the stories carefully. And most importantly, what I’ve learnt about myself as a writer is that I really like writing. I always knew I liked writing, but with this unit I’ve come to conclusion that I will most definitely be writing more in my free time.
